Let us know what you think of something like this, and more details will be posted soon.

  • September 18, 9 AM - 4 PM Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival at UCCS
Even bigger and better than the Carnival we did last year, we've now turned this into a full-blown science festival, it will be HUGE, and we'll need LOTS of help (>125 volunteers!) to pull it off! We'll have live science demonstration shows throughout the day and another Hands-on Science Carnival with over 50 activity stations, along with speakers, presentations, exhibits, workshops and UCCS lab tours.
You can help run an activity station, or better yet, help us train other volunteers to staff these stations by becoming a SUPER-Volunteer. All you need is a few hours once or twice during the week of the festival for us to turn you into an expert on a few of the activity stations, then on Saturday morning you will pass that knowledge on to the rest of our volunteers and supervise those activities for the rest of the day. If you're up for the challenge we really need 6-8 people to step up for this, and I promise we'll find a way to reward you! Please call or email Marc (719-964-1042, marc@coolscience.org) soon.

  • September 24, 8 AM-3 PM Day of Science at the Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning
This is the one time each year when we don't really need our own volunteers for a DoS. This is our annual collaboration with Prof. Stephanie DiCenzo's Senior Physics Seminar at Colorado College, where her physics students prepare interactive demonstrations and then present them to elementary or middle school students. We provide guidance, equipment and fill out the schedule if needed, but the CC students do most of the work, and find out just how well they really understand their subject!
