- Watch what happens to the light shining on the paper.
What does this mean?
- As the sun travels across the sky, its light has to travel greater
and shorter distances to reach your eyes.
- When the sun is directly overhead at noon the light has the least
amount of air to travel through.
- The sun at the horizon has the most amount of light to travel
through. The milky water, like oxygen and nitrogen in the air scatter
most of the colors so you mostly see orange-reds.
